The 1920s were such a grand time! And so sparkly! And they had so much punch then. I think I shall call all of you CHAP and OLD SPORT from now forward. Like GATSBY did.

Now I'm not complaining, as I'm sure it will be splendid, and I for one am looking forward to the show. But what is the point of making the Christmas concert mandatory? Is Christmas spirit entirely relevant to our ongoing education? And isn't mandatory attendance just a guarantee that people will disrupt the show by trying to sneak out, or that the first years will get restless after going so long without a nap and start fussing? Will there be cookies and juice boxes there to keep them from getting too fidgety?

That said, best of luck to the rest of the choir! I'm sure the show will be great And not just because we have to be in order to prevent truancy.

Do you suppose the prefects will be required to attend or chaperone these dances? I wouldn't have a soul to go with, and All of these extracurricular activities so close to the holidays will leave very little time for me to get my work done, and I certainly won't be permitted to practice over break, with the restrictions in place regarding underage magic. And since no one else in my household could be using magic And since my parents would certainly not allow me to break the rules, even if it were only for practice, I would hate to get behind.

Though I would have time to do some reading. I could always get ahead in my arithmancy text and impress
